LEARNING EXCHANGE ON GOOD PRACTICES IN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

On 11-15 March 2024, PDAP Strength CTIP organized a Learning Exchange on Good Practices in Economic Empowerment with A Child’s Trust Is Ours to Nurture – ACTION Inc., Atikha Overseas Workers and Communities Initiative, Inc., Bidlisiw Foundation Inc. – Philippines, Blas Ople Policy Center, Hospicio de San Jose, Katilingban sa Kalambuan Org. Inc., Preda Foundation, Inc., and Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights, Inc. in San Pablo City, Laguna and Cebu City, Cebu. Highlighting the SCTIP Program’s thrust supporting access to and enhancing economic opportunities for TIP victim-survivors and source communities, the learning activity enabled discussions and exchanges on good practices in various economic empowerment tracks, including education, employment, and enterprise, as implemented by NGOs in partnership with the private sector, national and local governments. DOJ Assistant Secretary Michelle Anne Lapuz, National Coordinating Center on OSAEC and CSAEM Executive Director Margarita Lourdes Magsaysay, and USAID Officials led by OEDG Deputy Director Eric Florimon-Reed graced the Learning Exchange.

Outputs of the learning exchange will form part of the Guide to Good Practices in Economic Empowerment currently being developed by PDAP Strength CTIP. Stay tuned!
